Bird Register operates as a not-for-profit organisation using the funds it receives to support bird welfare services throughout the UK. Bird Register does not charge Rescue Centres, Rehoming Services and other Welfare Services for using this website, however there is a small annual charge for breeders and a small charge for owners wishing to register their bird. All funds will be reused to help welfare services provide the best care, attention and support throughout the UK.
Bird Register is a centrally managed database of pet birds. Registering your birds is quick and simple, just fill in our online form recording details such as Ring Number, Hatch Date and Microchip details. You may also supply a photo of your bird. We will then assign the bird to yourself, recording your personal details, which will be included on your ownership certificate.
Certificate of Ownership
Once registered with us, you will receive a certificate of ownership, much like a V5 document for your car. This can be used for transfer of ownership and also be used as proof of ownership.
Lost and Recovered
Should your bird be lost or stolen, we will aim to reunite owners with their bird should it be found or recovered. We use a large network of Breeders, Animal Centres and Social Networking Sites to assist in recovering your bird.
Once a bird is registered with Bird Register, we keep a log of previous known owners, sellers and breeders. Check with us prior to buying your new bird to obtain all known history.
